NZC Strategy & Transition Pathway

A credible, science-aligned Net Zero Carbon strategy for your organisation — from baseline carbon footprint through to a costed, board-ready transition roadmap.

What it is

A Net Zero Carbon strategy sets out how your organisation will reach net zero emissions by a defined target year, with milestones, measures and accountability along the way. We develop strategies that are science-aligned (consistent with a 1.5°C trajectory), commercially grounded, and credible to investors, lenders and supply chain customers who are scrutinising net zero claims with increasing rigour.

The transition pathway translates the strategy into a costed decarbonisation roadmap — identifying the interventions required by year, the capital expenditure needed, and the carbon reductions delivered at each stage.

When you need it

  • You have made, or intend to make, a public net zero commitment and need a credible plan behind it.
  • Your investors, lenders or major customers are asking for a net zero transition plan and you do not yet have one.
  • You want to align with the SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard or submit science-based targets for validation.
  • You have a GHG inventory but no clear view of which interventions will move the needle most or in what sequence.
  • You operate a property portfolio and need to integrate CRREM pathway analysis and NZCBS alignment into your strategy.

Our approach

  1. 1

    Baseline carbon footprint

We establish your GHG Protocol baseline: Scope 1, 2 and material Scope 3 categories, covering the full organisational boundary. DEFRA 2025 factors applied throughout.

  2. 2

    Materiality and hotspot analysis

We identify the emissions categories that account for the majority of your footprint and focus the strategy on the interventions that will have most impact.

  3. 3

    Science-aligned target setting

We develop near-term and long-term targets consistent with a 1.5°C trajectory, suitable for SBTi submission or voluntary disclosure under TCFD and ISSB S2.

  4. 4

    Decarbonisation measures

We identify and quantify the interventions available to your organisation — energy efficiency, fuel switching, renewable procurement, supply chain engagement, fleet electrification — and model the carbon and cost impact of each.

  5. 5

    Transition pathway

We build a phased roadmap sequencing measures by year, with associated capital expenditure, carbon reduction, and residual emissions requiring offsets.

  6. 6

    Board-ready report

We deliver a strategy document and executive summary suitable for board sign-off, investor disclosure or lender covenant reporting.
